Melissa Blanchenay has been in the design and construction industry for over twenty years. She has a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from the Florida State University. Upon graduating, she worked as a design consultant for high-end custom builders in both New York and Florida, taking would-be home owners through the customization process from plan to finish.
Education and Experience:
Melissa has a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from the Florida State University. She teaches courses on color theory and has spoken in public regarding many design topics.
She developed a love for construction by walking her own jobs, learning from professional contractors on-site, and negotiating contracts, deadlines, and finish schedules to keep the construction process on time and within budget.
Melissa has spent the last sixteen years as a business development executive for upper echelon design industry brands such as Kohler, KALLISTA, Benjamin Moore and Behr Paint. She has become a reliable resource for design professionals in both commercial and residential design. She is skilled in business development, color theory, design, sales and marketing, negotiation, event planning, and public speaking.
Melissa is also a mother and breast cancer survivor. She has published a memoir to help others through the disease.
